These are from my last trip home. November-December 2009.

We’re going home in August, probably only for a week or so but it’s exciting and scary. I miss my parents and my friends and my sister, but am not looking forward to the plane ride. Noo, no. Looking at these photos makes me miss home so much, I honestly cannot wait.

I’m also starting a personal project. It’s a 365 day (eek) project but in a paper journal. I’m thinking of starting it on my birthday, which is coming up in July. At least one photo a day for 365 days and a short or long handwritten entry, to document this next year of my life. I’m sure it’s going to be really hard but it’ll also be a lot of fun to look back on. Wish me luck! I’m excited.

Hope your day is going well. I’m on my way to drop off a roll of film.

It’s been a while since you were home, so I’m sure the plane ride will be worth it! You can do it (oh gosh I hate flying toooo….!!)

I love the sound of your photo journal, won’t it be so nice to look back at in the future. I want to do one for my summer travels : )

I’m going to drop off a roll as well, no rain right now :D … even the ground has dried.! It’s been weeks!! so happy.

i know, it’s been a while since being home. trying not to think about flying till i’m in the airport haha. at least you can get ON the plane, i can’t barely do that.

you should totally make a travel journal! i’ve seen some cute ones.

can’t wait to see what you get from your roll! do you scan yourself? :D

I have the negatives processed and let the shop make me a CD . . . lazy ! Whether I do that, or have prints made, it’s so expensive here :(

      • June 22, 2011

ah! i haven’t been scanning either. i’ve been just getting a c.d from the lab and it’s also expensive, but probably not as expensive as japan. :/

Well done you for starting a journal, I’m always vowing to start one but fail miserably. I’m sure yours will be a success, going home is the perfect start to a photo diary :)

good luck on your journal. I have one, but have yet to start on it. sometimes it is hard to not be lazy. are you going to work with prompts first or just stare at a blank page till you get an idea?

i think i’ll just write about whatever happens during the day and take a few photos of something that stood out to me. looking into portable printers- nothing really expensive or of amazing quality. i guess i have some time.. almost a month : )

      good luck on your journal!

Just think of it this way: I bet every time you fly you will become more and more comfortable doing it. I know how you feel, though, b/c I totally developed flight anxiety in my teenage years. My dad (former Navy/commercial pilot) always tells me that turbulence is just like driving on a bumpy road. Not as scary when you think about it that way, right?

    • June 22, 2011

thanks for that, it made me feel better :). that’s awesome your dad was a pilot, my dad works for united so we flew a lot as kids. don’t know where this silly fear came from but i need to get rid of it.

      :) thanks!

This is getting a little eerie now – I was thinking of doing exactly the same thing with my journal! How funny. Wondering when is your birthday? My birthday’s in July too and you’re right – that would be a good time to start something like that!

Have you seen the ‘one line a day’ journals? I know it doesn’t give you much to write but it’s an easy way to just jot down a memory!

    • June 22, 2011

no i haven’t, but i just checked it out and it’s so cute. i love little writing books! thanks for telling me about it.
