After the beach on Sunday, we went to Balboa Island and hung out along the water. We stopped in a candy shop and bought Dubble Bubble, lollipops, cigarette gum, Gold Mine Nugget gum, jelly beans and some sweet tart candies shaped like dog bones.

I found some old 25 cent machines and used a dollar trying to get a toy taco out of a machine labeled “Taco Time Menu”. I think that middle toy is a burrito (in the last picture) but I could be wrong.

The sun was slowly setting behind the restaurants and we decided on a whim to ride the ferris wheel. Ron didn’t seem too enthusiastic about how old and rickety the ride was and asked me how I could ride on an old ferris wheel but not in a plane. Good question. We also decided that since we were doing things on a whim we would sign up for the whale watching long beach tour.

We moved over to the pier after the ride and watched the sunset on the water- hundreds of sparkling little diamonds glittering in one long straight line. I could spend hours on piers, just watching the waves crash up against the wooden pillars, over and over.

Hopefully we’ll get back to the beach soon. I’m so happy the weather has been warm and sunny!

Have a great Thursday.

Those colors! I’m so close to Santa Monica and Venice, so those are the beaches I typically frequent. But this post is making me want to get back down to Balboa soon!

you and ron sure know how to enjoy the weekends to the max :) he asked a good Q – i’d be scared riding the ferris wheel (planes actually feel safer, ha!). i think i tried fuji superia on my eos3 and the colors came out nothing like yours. did you get it developed at green st photo lab?
