Merry Christmas! I was going to post an entry earlier in the day but have been out since the morning. We ended up spending the whole day at my in-law’s house. I helped cook a turkey for the first time in my life, which was pretty fun. I can’t stop thinking about the braised carrots we made with orange marmalade and brown sugar. I never used orange marmalade before, so I didn’t really know what to expect, but WOW! It’s so good! I think I’m going to make it again sometime really soon.

We exchanged secret santa gifts (mine was a candy box from and I got a slow cooker and some toys for my kids as well as a Bob2016RevolutionFlex stroller for my baby. Excited to try some slow cooker recipes. Stews, chili, soups! And I bought gifts for 5 month old babies who are my nephews.

At the end of the night, the power went out and we ended up sitting around the fireplace, talking. It was kind of nice, listening to the sound of the rain and crackling of the fire.

I’m looking forward to sleeping tonight. Hope everyone had a good Christmas! Merry Christmas, again.
