I woke up this morning and the marine layer was thick and low, leaving a slight mist outside between the trees. It’s Halloween today (Happy Halloween!) and I think we’re going to take it easy tonight, maybe cook something light, listen to music and read a new book that a friend sent me. I had all these little ideas on what we could do for Halloween, but am realizing after rush editing a bunch of photos, that I’m pretty tired.

Dusted off the tripod today and took a few photos with the Land Camera–nothing worth posting, but it felt good to go through the process. There hasn’t been much time lately, to sit back and enjoy all the newness around us. So far i’ve noticed that from where we’ve positioned my work desk, you can see the tiny planes flying in from the coast. My favorite is watching them at sunset– pastel pinks and yellows reflecting off their metal wings. The fog in the evenings remind me of nights in Hawai’i, when we’d come home from eating ramen at Taishoken and the air was thick and humid.

I was pretty hesitant about moving down here, but these little unexpected details have been surprisingly delightful.

From the last morning in our old apartment.

Happy Friday!

I’ve been playing around with Spotify a lot, lately. I know a lot of people aren’t on it, so I put up a mix here. October Mix.

I’m really looking forward to getting the apartment completely unpacked and cleaned. We also have some stuff at the old apartment that still needs to be moved over! This move is really forcing me to get rid of old articles of clothing and tiny hoarded items such as keychains, pencils, erasers, stickers, headbands from 1999, glasses, makeup and the list goes on. I just feel like I grow emotionally attached to certain items from my past, which makes parting from them, really difficult. I’m sure this is how extreme hoarding begins, so goodbye movie ticket stubs from 2008, Griffith Observatory passes from 2007 and old rusty Forever 21 necklaces from 2001. It’s time to move on and keep the memories in my head.

Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday!

Still recovering from this mystery plague, but I’m excited to have two days to relax this weekend. We sign the lease to our new place tomorrow and a few friends are visiting from Hawai’i, so hopefully I get to see them for dinner or lunch and also test a roll on the new camera (if I have enough energy).

A few random photos of food above. Pineapple, blueberries, fig jam.

Have a good weekend!

Gotye – Bronte

Hello.

Can you believe it? I got sick again. This time it was food poisoning from my favorite mexican restaurant in Pasadena : (. Looks like I won’t be having tacos anytime soon! I don’t remember ever getting this sick from food poisoning before, but I’m definitely re-thinking my diet after this! Ron got sick, too, and I had to take him to some urgent care clinic at 11pm!

I’m so sorry if I owe you an email or snail mail! I’m trying to get to everything as soon as possible. I also missed Rose Bowl Flea Market for the 6th month in a row! I swear I have a Rose Bowl curse.

On an upside, I got a new camera and am moving into a new apartment soon! Hopefully I can recover and get some photos up for you.

Have a great day!

Ps-Sorry for such negative entries lately!

Sandwiches, coffee, ocean breeze, apartment hunting, plane watching, tomato bisque and asparagus at home, birthday shoes, my favorite book from Lauren, guilty pleasures (chocolate covered doughnuts), old plants, self-portrait.

Looking forward to the weekend, as always. Might shoot some black and white film. I got a new camera and it came with two rolls of Tmax 400.
