Instax photos from Sunday / Marina Del Rey
I took my Instax with me to Marina Del Rey. The original plan was to go to Venice and take a walk, but the area we wanted to visit had zero parking. We got some ice cream, sat on the the benches facing the ocean and watched the pelicans and seagulls and sailboats while the sun went down.
I’ve been craving blood orange cocktails since our ACE Hotel visit. We had blood orange cocktails everyday by the pool and I haven’t stopped thinking about them since. I found a recipe that looked good (here) and was thinking of trying it out tomorrow or when my sister arrives on Wednesday. Now to find blood oranges…
Ps- Doesn’t Ron’s shadow look strange in the last photo? Almost cartoonish.
the colors are so great.
love your new font, btw :)
thanks, elisabelle! you noticed the font! it’s what happens when you’re up late playing around with your blog. ^_^
Love all your instax snaps. A lovely treat for my Tuesday evening. We had some ice cream tonight as well and my tummy is still singing from it.

p.s. What do you use to scan in your Instax prints?
i scan everything (negatives,polaroids,instax) w/ a canoscan8800F scanner. i think the epson v500 and 700 scanners are a lot better, but i like mine.
Love the blue tones in these!
thanks, ida : )
hehe. i didn’t notice the cartoonish shadow right away. :P
it seems the only time i’m able to find a good parking spot in venice is when it’s an overcast day. marina del rey looks great–will have to visit next time i’m in town.
one of these days i would like an instax. i have a mini that rarely gets used. once my pola stash is gone, i’ll take the complete instax plunge. :)
hehe his nose looks so strange!
i know, it’s the one thing i like about winter here–parking everywhere! well, not everywhere but more parking than when the weather is nice. marina del rey is nice, it’s really close to ron’s work.
i like the instax. i wish you could manually focus and there were some close-up filters you could use. but it’s fun :D
ps-his nose in the shadow looks strange. not in real life. had to clarify ^_^
love the colors, never got such great tones in Instax film.
thanks, simon!
great shots, lovely colours. looks like idyllic summer :) am envious in my cold, windy city. have a great day :)
thank you, thank you :D hope your week is going well!
wow, love those colors, so summery. and his shadow looks very cartoony…i think it’s the nose, haha. :)
hehehe cartoony nose!
I like every photos here, very nice instax indeed
thanks, viria! : )
that shadow is what i love most about that last photo.
i can never get my instax photos to scan well… but then, i don’t have a true photo scanner. these are so good. i love the colors.
thank you : ). i always have problems scanning my polaroids, the colors are almost always off.
Your photos with the instax are inspiring. I am still working on conquering how to use it light-wise. Really well-done!
thanks, alexandria. w/ the instax, i have a hard time with composition. i look through the viewfinder and it looks centered, but when the photo develops, it’s off! drives me crazy but i guess i need practice. lighting was hard for me as well.
