January Mix

I made a January Mix. You can listen to it here.
Have a great rest of the week!
FRIDAY!

Point Reyes, California is a beautiful place. I imagine myself spending days and weeks out by the ocean or by the woods, reading books and taking photos in the foggy mornings. I want to go back.

Through Gilroy: Small, empty farmer’s markets, rows of bare trees, long winding roads surrounded by rolling hills and sleepy animals.

Morning in our hotel room. Before Ron got up, i’d sit by the window and watch the city move around below me. There’d always be a seagull on the church’s cross, next door.

We stopped at a little diner on our way out one morning and had brunch. Omelets and hash browns. Sandwiches and milkshakes.

On our last night, we ordered room service and took it easy.

Have a good weekend, everyone. I’m so happy it’s Friday.
Beta

Film // 35mm
I finally got some film developed of Beta, the new family member. She’s already getting a lot bigger, so big that when she climbs up on my lap to sleep, she rolls right off.
Raising a puppy is HARD work, it’s been a lot of sleepless nights, but it’s slowly getting better. She gets her last set of shots this weekend and can finally roam around outside with the other dogs, I’m excited to get her (and myself) out of the house.

Film // 35mm
Sometimes when I’m having a bad day, I time travel back to this day w/ my memories and smile. Such an amazing place, it felt like we were in a dream.
Rainforest Dome

35mm // Film
Photos from the California Academy Of Sciences. I loved this rainforest dome, you could immediately feel the humidity and I realized how long it’s been since i’ve felt thick, warm air like that.
Friday!

35mm // Film
My sister in-law came over a few weeks ago and brought this really amazing Crack Pie she made from the Momofuku recipe. I only planned on eating a piece or two, but ended up devouring the whole slice! It was just that good.
By the way, Happy Friday! I’m so happy it’s the weekend, I think we’re going to get out for a little to see the ocean, eat lunch and take some photos. Hopefully the puppy won’t be barking non stop while we’re gone.
Lighthouse + Ruined Rolls

35mm // Film
These are from a few weeks ago, when I took my Rolleiflex out. Unfortunately I made the stupid mistake of loading it backwards, so nothing came out!! I put so much thought and energy into that roll, I was so mad at myself when I realized what I did. I’ll never make that mistake again though, that’s for sure!
Someone asked me for photos of my new pup. I don’t have any film photos yet, but I have a couple Instagram shots Here and Here and Here. Her name is Beta and she’s been howling and crying all night, every night. Seems as though all she wants to do is cuddle, so when we go to bed, she doesn’t like sleeping alone and howls– such a horrifying sound coming out of such a tiny little animal.
Happy New Year!

Film // 35mm // Holiday party
Hi and Happy New Year. Sorry for the long hiatus, we went on a little trip to San Francisco, came home and now have a new puppy that has been occupying ALL of my time. I’m tired to say the very least!
I have a bunch of photos to share, so i’ll be posting them throughout the week. Hope everyone had some good times this holiday season. I did, and I also ate a LOT. My sister in-law is an amazing cook and cooked up this turkey feast (photos above).
Keep Me From Blowing Away

film / 35mm
This week has been mostly calm and quiet, the wind has died down and the marine layer comes in mostly during the mornings and sits till lunch time, where it burns and parts. On Tuesday we went Christmas tree hunting around town, there were a few places to choose from– we ended up at a crowded fenced off, dimly lit station, shuffling through wet trees. The moon was big and bright, I remember standing in line with my hands in my jacket pockets, watching the moon move in and out of passing clouds till it was our turn to pay.
9 days till Christmas? I always say this but, time flies! Really looking forward to these coming weeks and taking that mini vacation I was talking about. Sometimes I can’t sleep, thinking about all the things we’ll do on the trip and the photo opportunities that lie ahead. Does anyone get like this? Which cameras to bring, where to go first, what film to use and in which camera!? I’m so excited.
Hope your days are going well. I’ve been loving this song from Cass Mccomb’s new album: Harmonia
